Overview

UCLA Health is seeking a highly skilled and research-driven Research Pharmacist (Oncology) to join its Santa Monica team. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge oncology research while delivering exceptional patient-centered pharmaceutical care.

As part of a globally recognized healthcare system, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support investigational drug studies that directly impact patient outcomes and clinical advancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute protocol-related activities, including study start-up, investigational drug management, monitoring, and close-out

  • Ensure accurate and compliant dispensing of investigational and standard medications

  • Support clinical research operations in alignment with regulatory standards and institutional policies

  • Collaborate with physicians, research teams, and pharmacy staff to ensure seamless study execution

  • Supervise and guide pharmacy support personnel involved in clinical research activities

  • Maintain strict compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations

  • Contribute to a patient-centric approach by ensuring safety, efficacy, and quality in all pharmacy services

  • Adapt to evolving healthcare and research environments with strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree

  • Active pharmacist license in the United States (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Strong knowledge of oncology pharmacotherapy and investigational drug services

  • Familiarity with clinical research protocols, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills

  • Proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary and fast-paced healthcare environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in oncology pharmacy or clinical research pharmacy

  • Experience handling investigational drugs and clinical trial operations

  • Board certification (e.g., Oncology Pharmacy) is an added advantage

Experience Required

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in hospital pharmacy, clinical research, or oncology pharmacy setting

  • Experience with investigational drug services and clinical trials is strongly preferred

Work Environment & Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel across multiple sites within the UCLA Health system

  • Flexibility to work varied shifts depending on operational needs
