Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Research Scientist for our Analytical R&D team. This individual will play a key role in the development and optimization of analytical methods for the analysis and purification of organic compounds, with a focus on medicinal chemistry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in chromatography, spectroscopy, and related techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis and Purification of Compounds:

    • Perform analysis of medicinal chemistry compounds using chromatography and spectroscopy techniques.
    • Develop methods to determine the purity of organic compounds using HPLC, LCMS, and NMR.
    • Conduct initial method development on an analytical scale for separation of organic compounds and scale up to preparative purification to obtain pure desired compounds.
    • Utilize GC for purity determination and solvent analysis (density, non-volatile matter, purity).
    • Purify compounds using Preparative HPLC and validate purity via analytical techniques.
  • Instrumental and Analytical Techniques:

    • Identify the mass of organic compounds using LCMS.
    • Conduct calibration and maintenance of instrumental techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability.
    • Process and integrate data from chromatography and spectroscopy to elucidate compound structures.
    • Use 1D and 2D NMR experiments to identify proton nature and confirm structure.
  • Research and Documentation:

    • Conduct literature reviews to identify the latest methods for analyzing similar compounds.
    • Communicate experimental outcomes and provide routine updates on the work status to the reporting manager.
    • Maintain accurate records of research findings and experimental procedures.
  • Team Collaboration and Safety:

    • Work closely with team members to refine and confirm methods for purification and identification.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and implement good laboratory practices (GLP) in all activities.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Postgraduate degree in Science or a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in analytical research and development, with a focus on medicinal chemistry and related analytical techniques.
  • Strong hands-on experience with HPLC, LCMS, NMR, GC, and other analytical instruments.
  • In-depth knowledge of chromatographic techniques and structure elucidation methods.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
