Position Overview:

As a Trainee Research Associate in Analytical R&D, you will be responsible for performing analytical tasks related to medicinal chemistry compounds. You will work with various chromatography and spectroscopy techniques to analyze, purify, and identify organic compounds. You will also contribute to the development of methods and ensure the purity of compounds using HPLC, LCMS, NMR, and other techniques.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Method Development & Analysis:

    • Develop and optimize analytical methods for the separation and purity determination of organic compounds using HPLC, LCMS, and NMR.
    • Perform analysis of medicinal chemistry compounds through chromatography and spectroscopy.
    • Purify compounds on both analytical and preparative scales, ensuring the desired purity.
  • Instrumentation & Calibration:

    • Operate and calibrate analytical instruments (HPLC, GC, LCMS, NMR) for accurate analysis and identification of compounds.
    • Analyze solvents for purity, density, non-volatile matter, etc., using GC.
  • Structural Elucidation:

    • Conduct 1D and 2D NMR experiments for structure elucidation.
    • Interpret and analyze spectra to identify proton nature and confirm compound structures.
  • Reporting & Documentation:

    • Process, integrate, and report experimental data in a structured format.
    • Document all analytical procedures and outcomes in compliance with laboratory practices.
    • Communicate experimental results and updates to the reporting manager for further modifications.
  • Literature Research & Method Validation:

    • Conduct literature searches for the latest techniques in method development and validation for similar compounds.
    • Implement new methodologies based on research findings.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration:

    • Work closely with team members to coordinate and confirm methods for purification and structural analysis.
    • Cooperate effectively with colleagues to ensure accuracy and consistency in research.
  • Safety & Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols and laboratory practices to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Implement Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in all activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Qualification:

    • Post Graduate in Science (Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field).
    • A Doctorate (Ph.D.) is desirable but not required.
  • Experience Range:

    • 0-1 years of relevant experience in Analytical R&D or a similar field.

Additional Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of various chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques (HPLC, LCMS, NMR, GC).
  • Ability to work with laboratory instruments and perform calibrations.
  • Understanding of chemical structure elucidation and method development.
  • Good communication skills for reporting experimental results and collaborating with the team.
  • Ability to perform detailed literature reviews and apply new techniques to research.
  • Adherence to safety and laboratory standards.
