Position Overview

We are looking for a Trainee Research Associate in Analytical R&D to work on medicinal chemistry compounds using various analytical techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for recent postgraduates with an interest in chromatography, spectroscopy, and organic chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis & Characterization:

    • Analyze medicinal chemistry compounds using HPLC, LCMS, and NMR.
    • Develop methods to determine the purity of organic compounds.
    • Perform separation and purification of organic compounds using Preparative HPLC.
  • Techniques & Instrumentation:

    • Utilize GC, LCMS, and other analytical techniques to analyze and determine the purity of compounds.
    • Conduct calibration and maintenance of analytical instruments.
    • Analyze solvents for parameters like density, non-volatile matter, and purity by GC.
  • Structural Elucidation:

    • Elucidate the structure of compounds using 1D and 2D NMR experiments.
    • Apply knowledge of proton nature analysis using NMR.
  • Research & Literature:

    • Perform literature searches for the latest methods and validation of similar compounds.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration:

    • Coordinate with the team for method development, purification, and structural elucidation.
    • Communicate experimental outcomes and update the reporting manager regularly on progress.
  • Laboratory Safety & Compliance:

    • Adhere to safety protocols, implement good laboratory practices (GLP), and follow regulatory guidelines.

Education & Qualifications

  • Education: Postgraduate degree (M.Sc.) in Science or Doctorate in a related field.

Experience

  • Experience Range: 0-1 year of experience in a related role or academic projects.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong foundation in organic chemistry and analytical techniques (HPLC, LCMS, NMR, GC).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic research environment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and good laboratory practices.
