Your Role at Baxter:

As a Research Associate I, R&D - F&D, your work will directly contribute to the development of critical healthcare products. You will be part of a dynamic, collaborative team within our Research & Development department, focusing on the development of pharmaceutical injectables. This is a role where your analytical and technical skills will be used to drive the creation of life-saving products that make a real difference for patients globally.

Your work will involve literature searches, experimental design, root cause analysis, technology transfer, and more—all aimed at improving product quality and advancing Baxter's product portfolio. As a key contributor, you’ll help define, organize, and execute Quality by Design (QbD)-based experiments in compliance with industry standards and regulations.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Literature Search: Conduct research and compile consolidated reports on relevant products/projects.
  • Collaboration: Work with experienced colleagues to define, plan, and carry out QbD-based experiments for the development of injectable pharmaceuticals.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze experimental data and present findings to the team for decision-making and action planning.
  • Problem Solving: Independently analyze research problems and propose innovative solutions.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Engage in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for new product development and sustaining projects.
  • Manufacturing Process Understanding: Assess the impact of manufacturing processes on product quality.
  • Technology Transfer: Support scale-up and plant technology transfer for injectable products.
  • Innovation: Contribute new ideas for project development and product improvement.
  • Documentation: Ensure that all lab work is documented according to Baxter’s Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and regulatory standards (e.g., Data Integrity, ALCOA).
  • Compliance: Adhere to Baxter’s Quality Manual, SOPs, and Environmental Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) guidelines in daily activities to ensure proactive compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Support: Provide support in the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 6-8 years of proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry, ideally in R&D or formulation development.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical and analytical skills.
    • Proficiency in experimental design and data analysis.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in pharmaceutical development.
