Job Description:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a skilled Argus Database Programmer Analyst to join our Clinical Research Services team, working remotely from India. This role will support the Pharmacovigilance (PV) Safety database (Oracle Argus) by leading configuration, development, reporting, and data migration tasks in alignment with global compliance standards and internal SOPs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for Oracle Argus safety database configuration and maintenance

  • Provide technical solutions and systems administration to support PV safety operations

  • Generate custom and ad-hoc safety reports using built-in tools, OBIEE, or SQL

  • Lead data migration and validation projects with comprehensive documentation

  • Address user queries, resolve system issues, and perform routine dictionary upgrades

  • Manage configuration changes and system upgrades following PPD change control policy

  • Liaise with database vendors for issue resolution, upgrades, and enhancements

  • Assist with SOP development and internal/external audits

  • Create and manage tenants, distribution rules, and safety system configurations

  • Mentor junior staff and lead project initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmacovigilance systems, with hands-on Argus J experience preferred

  • Strong background in Oracle Argus system administration, safety data migrations, and database structure

  • Proficient in SQL programming and report generation

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

  • Proven ability to handle multiple assignments with tight timelines

  • Experience in regulatory environments with a detail-oriented and proactive approach

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience in case processing

  • OBIEE report development

  • Understanding of relational database systems

  • Leadership and mentorship capabilities
