Registered Nurse – Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit (4 East)
Location: University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, MD
Schedule: Rotating shifts (7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.), 3 12-hour shifts/week, every 3rd weekend rotation.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $35.19–$60.56/hour.
  • Additional Compensation: Shift differentials.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert care to patients in a specialized cardiac stepdown unit.
  • Act as a clinical resource for peers, sharing knowledge and advancing team practices.
  • Utilize and integrate evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Perform specialized unit roles, such as arrest team (ICU) or triage (ED).
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to plan, coordinate, and advocate for patient and family needs.
  • Model practices that ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active RN license in Maryland or eligibility via the Compact State Agreement.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 months of nursing experience with strong clinical competencies.
  • Certifications:
    • Current AHA BLS certification.
    • Unit-specific certifications: PALS, ACLS, NRP (as required).
