Registered Nurse Opportunity – Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit (4 East)
Location: University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, MD
Schedule: Night shifts (7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.), 3 12-hour shifts/week, with every 3rd weekend rotation.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit, your role includes:

  • Providing expert care for patients in the unit’s specialized population.
  • Acting as a clinical resource for peers, advancing practices and sharing knowledge.
  • Integrating evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Functioning in specialized roles unique to the unit, such as arrest team (ICU) or triage (ED).
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to plan, coordinate, and advocate for patient and family needs.
  • Modeling best practices aligned with safe, effective, and patient-centered care delivery.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active Maryland RN license or eligibility through the Compact State Agreement.
  • Experience: Minimum 12 months of nursing experience with strong clinical skills.
  • Certification:
    • Current AHA BLS certification.
    • Unit-specific certifications: PALS, ACLS, NRP as required.
