Registered Nurse Opportunity – Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit (4 East)
Location: University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson, MD
Schedule: Rotating shifts (7 a.m.–7 p.m. and 7 p.m.–7 a.m.), 3 12-hour shifts/week, with every 3rd weekend.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $35.19–$60.56/hour.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Surgery Stepdown Unit, you will:

  • Provide competent care for the unit’s specific patient population, with solid clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Act as a clinical resource and support for peers.
  • Apply and integrate evidence-based practices into patient care.
  • Take on specialized unit roles, such as arrest team for ICU or triage for ED, as needed.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and advocate for patient/family needs.
  • Ensure care aligns with unit operations to deliver safe, timely, effective, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Active RN Licensure: In Maryland or through Compact state agreements.
  • Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience with solid clinical skills.
  • Current AHA BLS certification required.
  • Additional unit-specific certifications required: PALS, ACLS, NRP.
