Registered Dietitian Malnutrition Informatics Specialist

Location: Remote (Up to 50% travel required to area facilities)
Salary: Starting at $80,000 per year


Position Overview

As the Registered Dietitian Malnutrition Informatics Specialist at HHS, LLC, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the hospital's malnutrition programs. Your role will involve utilizing data analytics to track performance indicators, make data-driven recommendations, and enhance the recognition and treatment of malnutrition across facilities.

This is a remote position with significant travel to various healthcare facilities, ensuring that the program meets its objectives and has a measurable impact on patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Malnutrition Program Management

  • Oversee the development and improvement of hospital malnutrition programs.
  • Track and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) related to malnutrition outcomes.
  • Analyze hospital data to monitor malnutrition trends and recommend program adjustments.
  • Foster collaboration by building relationships with physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Lead or participate in committees and training sessions to promote awareness and adherence to best practices in malnutrition management.

Registered Dietitian (RD) Support

  • Provide ongoing monitoring and training on malnutrition assessment and documentation for RDs and CNMs.
  • Assist RDs and facilities in achieving quality standards of care, adhering to ASPEN guidelines.
  • Monitor RDs' clinical competency for regulatory compliance.
  • Provide clinical coverage when necessary, including nutrition assessments for patients at risk of malnutrition.

Quality Assurance

  • Regularly evaluate program performance through data collection, audits, and performance reviews.
  • Prepare reports for HHS leadership regarding malnutrition rates, diagnosis accuracy, and overall impact.
  • Identify and address opportunities for improvement based on data trends and feedback.

Advocacy and Policy Development

  • Advocate for policies and practices that promote early recognition, accurate diagnosis, and treatment of malnutrition.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration and state-required licensing.
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant clinical experience, with expert knowledge in malnutrition and NFPE per ASPEN guidelines.
  • Skills:
    • Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Excel for data collection and analysis.
    • Ability to work independently and manage personnel remotely.
    • Multi-tasking and ability to travel 50% of the time (both air and ground).
