About the Role

Gilead Sciences is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist in Oncology to support advanced research focused on resistance mechanisms to small-molecule cancer therapeutics. This role is designed for innovative scientists aiming to contribute to high-impact publications and transformative oncology discoveries.

The selected candidate will join a collaborative research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and cross-functional scientific expertise. This postdoctoral program offers a 2-year term with potential extension to a 3rd year based on performance and research direction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and evaluate in vitro and in vivo resistance models, including cancer cell lines and mouse xenograft tumor models.

  • Perform multi-omics analysis (WES, RNA-seq, methylation analysis, etc.) to identify molecular contributors to therapeutic resistance.

  • Conduct functional validation using CRISPR/Cas9, lentiviral tools, and gene overexpression systems.

  • Apply strong scientific reasoning, planning, and organizational skills to drive research excellence.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional scientific teams and present findings at internal meetings and scientific conferences.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.

  • Strong scientific foundation in cancer pharmacology, drug resistance, and functional genomics.

  • Hands-on experience with CRISPR/Cas9, lentiviral systems, and mouse xenograft models.

  • Proficiency in next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis preferred.

  • Evidence of impactful research through first-author publications in peer-reviewed journals.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for scientific reporting and presentations.


Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: USD 146,540 – 189,640
Actual salary may vary based on experience, qualifications, and location.
