Job Overview

A leading global healthcare solutions organization is seeking a highly experienced Patient Access Manager to lead regional reimbursement and market access initiatives in Los Angeles, California. This strategic field-based leadership role is responsible for driving the successful implementation of patient access programs supporting neuroscience therapies across a complex payer landscape.

The Patient Access Manager will oversee a team of Patient Access Specialists, ensuring alignment with commercial objectives, regulatory compliance, and patient-centered access strategies. This position requires deep expertise in Medicare Part B reimbursement, managed care strategy, specialty pharmacy distribution, and CMS policy frameworks.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Patient Access Specialists to achieve or exceed regional performance targets.

  • Build a high-performing, compliance-driven team focused on reimbursement excellence and customer engagement.

  • Establish measurable KPIs and ensure accountability across the district.

Reimbursement and Access Strategy Execution

  • Direct field teams in delivering reimbursement education for neuroscience products.

  • Guide benefits investigation and prior authorization processes under medical benefit pathways.

  • Provide expertise in Medicare Part B, CMS reimbursement policy, and specialty pharmacy channels.

  • Ensure compliant handling and utilization of patient healthcare information (PHI).

Compliance and Regulatory Governance

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations.

  • Ensure all team activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance standards.

  • Conduct ongoing compliance training and reinforce ethical business practices.

Stakeholder Engagement and Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with providers, payers, specialty pharmacies, and internal commercial teams.

  • Communicate strategic objectives clearly to align field execution with organizational goals.

  • Support new product launches and lifecycle management initiatives within the territory.

Performance Optimization and Market Insights

  • Monitor reimbursement trends, payer barriers, and access challenges.

  • Implement territory-level action plans to improve patient access outcomes.

  • Provide strategic feedback to leadership for continuous improvement of access programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in reimbursement, contract strategy, managed care sales, Medicare Part B/medical benefit, or pharmaceutical market access.

  • Demonstrated experience working within specialty pharmacy distribution channels.

  • Strong knowledge of CMS policy, healthcare compliance regulations, and reimbursement frameworks.

  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel overnight up to 75%.

  • Must reside within the assigned Los Angeles territory or surrounding boundaries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as MBA, MPH, PharmD, or related field.

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in field reimbursement or patient access management.

  • Experience in the CNS (Central Nervous System) therapeutic area.

  • Proven ability to manage complex payer environments and multi-stakeholder ecosystems.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary Range: $175,000 – $185,000 (Compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications.)
