Key Responsibilities

Pathology and Clinical Support

  • Provide expert pathology review and slide interpretation in support of FDA regulatory submissions, clinical trials, and pharmaceutical partners.

  • Serve as a pathology subject matter expert for Roche diagnostic development programs.

  • Act as a medical representative on cross-functional project teams, contributing to pathology-related decisions and strategy.

Research and Assay Development

  • Support research and development of primary antibodies, detection systems, probes, and special stains.

  • Contribute to the development and validation of novel diagnostic assays using advanced platforms.

  • Collaborate with scientific teams to ensure clinical relevance and diagnostic accuracy.

Advanced Diagnostic Technologies

  • Apply expertise in multiplex immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), mRNA in situ hybridization, and digital pathology.

  • Support innovation in molecular pathology and translational research initiatives.

Continuous Improvement and Strategic Input

  • Drive continuous improvement in pathology workflows and operational processes.

  • Advise leadership on future pathology, diagnostic, and medical needs to maintain Roche’s leadership in diagnostics.


Required Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • M.D. or D.O. with US Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology.

  • Active State Medical License (United States).

  • Completion of accredited Pathology Residency Training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship training with minimum 1 year of post-training experience in clinical practice or industry.

  • Prior experience in immunohistochemistry, cytology, molecular pathology, and/or genetics.

  • Exposure to diagnostics R&D, clinical trials, or regulatory submission support is a strong advantage.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Expected salary range (Tucson, AZ): USD 172,600 – 320,500, based on experience, qualifications, and location.

  • Eligibility for discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
