About the Role

The Oncology Medical Science Liaison (MSL) plays a pivotal role in advancing Takeda’s presence in the oncology therapeutic area through strategic scientific exchange and research support. You will act as a field-based expert, implementing the Therapeutic Area (TA) Medical Plan and fostering key relationships with external stakeholders like key opinion leaders (KOLs), physicians, and academic institutions.

Your contributions will ensure medical and scientific excellence in the oncology space while keeping patient safety and outcomes as the priority.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Execution

  • Implement the Therapeutic Area Medical Plan in the field, building robust relationships with KOLs and other stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on the latest oncology research, clinical data, and trends through continuous learning.
  • Provide strategic insights from external stakeholders to refine medical and brand strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and execute a scientific engagement plan, regularly updating the TA-specific KOL list.
  • Respond to healthcare professional (HCP) queries, including requests for off-label medical information.
  • Provide training to Takeda-contracted speakers and internal teams, ensuring alignment with compliance standards.

Medical Expertise & Collaboration

  • Support key activities such as advisory boards, medical education events, and scientific meetings.
  • Develop and review medical/scientific materials, ensuring adherence to Takeda policies.
  • Deliver scientific presentations to external stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Clinical Research Support

  • Assist with investigator-initiated studies (IISR) and contribute to company-sponsored clinical trials.
  • Collaborate on Real World Evidence (RWE) projects and national disease registries in oncology.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure that all communications are evidence-based, balanced, and compliant with regulations.
  • Uphold Takeda’s reputation by maintaining high ethical and professional standards.

Continuous Development

  • Maintain expertise in oncology through industry events, research, and peer collaboration.
  • Contribute to Takeda’s patient-centric initiatives, ensuring safety and access programs align with local regulations.

What You Bring

Education

  • Required: Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related fields.
  • Preferred: Postgraduate degrees (MD, Ph.D., or equivalent).

Experience

  • Fresh graduates welcome; prior experience in medical affairs or healthcare preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience as an MSL in oncology or related therapeutic areas is a plus.
  • Experience in clinical research or product launches is highly desirable.

  • Strong presentation, planning, and organizational capabilities.
  • Self-driven with a proven ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • High ethical standards with meticulous attention to detail and analytical skills.
