Nurse Practitioner – Oncology (Atascadero, CA)

Job Summary:
UCLA Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Hematology/Oncology clinic in Atascadero, California. In this career-defining role, you’ll work closely with physicians, fellows, and the medical director to provide independent clinical assessment and care management for oncology patients. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced clinical assessment and management for Hematology/Oncology patients

  • Collaborate with attending physicians, fellows, and the Medical Director

  • Implement Standardized Procedures (SPs) and practice independently under collaborative protocols

  • Monitor treatment plans, adjust therapies, and manage follow-up care

  • Deliver patient education and emotional support for patients and families

  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, hospital policies, and safety guidelines


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license

  • National NP certification (e.g., AANP or ANCC)

  • Minimum 2–5 years of nurse practitioner experience, preferably in oncology or hematology

  • Strong understanding of cancer treatment protocols and oncology medications

  • Excellent clinical judgment, autonomy, and patient care planning skills

  • Demonstrated ability to function independently in a multidisciplinary care team
