Position Overview

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Hematology and Medical Oncology unit at the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center. This position is a great opportunity for new graduates or nurses with less than one year of experience to grow within a supportive team.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with hematology and oncology needs, ranging from initial diagnoses to end-of-life care. This role allows you to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team, where you will be supported and guided through your development.


What You Will Do

  • Patient Care: Provide direct patient care using evidence-based practices. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, involving patients and families in care planning, and supporting education.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with physicians, social workers, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care tailored to the patient's needs.
  • Professional Development: You will participate in comprehensive training and orientation, with the goal of successfully completing your probationary period within 12 months.
  • Service Quality & Safety: Follow unit protocols, participate in process improvement plans, and contribute to enhancing patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Teamwork: Participate in unit governance, attend staff meetings, and support unit operations through collaboration and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) in Maryland, or eligible to practice under Compact state agreements.
  • Experience: This position is ideal for new graduates or those with less than 12 months of nursing experience.
  • Certifications: Current CPR certification.
  • Skills: Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to learn and use computer systems for managing patient information.
  • Education: Completion of a nursing program with the ability to care for patients across the lifespan and demonstrate the principles of growth and development.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $34.00 - $37.01 per hour
  • Sign-On Bonus: Eligible for up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
