Position Summary:

The Cardiovascular-Renal (CR) Sales Consultant is responsible for driving sales growth of BI’s and co-promoted cardio-renal-metabolic (CRM) products. The role involves developing and implementing brand sales strategies in alignment with BI’s commercial leadership, policies, and guidelines. The CR Sales Consultant will engage with key healthcare providers (HCPs), including cardiologists, nephrologists, advanced practice clinicians, and allied healthcare professionals in various healthcare settings such as:

  • Hospitals (teaching, community, federal, and military)
  • Heart failure clinics
  • Managed healthcare facilities
  • Integrated delivery networks

Additionally, the consultant will utilize both in-person and digital platforms to enhance customer engagement and advocacy.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Marketing Execution:

  • Implement brand strategies to effectively communicate sales and marketing messages to HCPs.
  • Utilize expertise in cardiology, nephrology, and diabetes to anticipate and manage business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of disease states, key influencers, and prescribing patterns within the assigned territory.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain collaboration with co-promotion partners and internal BI employees (sales, medical teams, etc.).
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers in hospital accounts.
  • Engage with customers through a mix of personal and digital channels (e.g., video conferencing, email, virtual meetings).

Customer & Market Insights:

  • Leverage understanding of BI’s CRM products and competitive landscape to enhance sales presentations.
  • Provide scientific and clinical value to healthcare providers, assisting them in meeting patient care needs while ensuring compliance with BI regulatory guidelines.
  • Support customers in areas such as discharge protocols, treatment algorithms, disease management, and population health initiatives.

Collaboration & Integration:

  • Work closely with other commercial associates to drive sales within local payers, hospitals, and healthcare networks.
  • Foster communication and network development among cardio-renal healthcare professionals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Cardiovascular-Renal Sales Consultant:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
    • At least 1 year in cardiovascular, diabetes, or nephrology sales.
    • Hospital and/or Account Management experience preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Proven track record of successful performance in pharmaceutical sales.
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and database applications.
    • Ability to travel, including potential overnight stays.
    • Must reside in assigned territory or be willing to relocate.
    • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Executive Cardiovascular-Renal Sales Consultant I:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience.
    • At least 2 years in cardiovascular, diabetes, or nephrology sales.
    • Minimum 1 year of Hospital and/or Account Management experience required.
  • Additional Skills: Same as Cardiovascular-Renal Sales Consultant.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to undergo a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
