Job Description:

The Medical Surveillance Specialist 1 will provide medical surveillance support for clinical studies, including monitoring laboratory data, composing medical narratives, and coordinating with investigator sites. The role supports clinical research through data review and effective communication with project teams and laboratory personnel.

 


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor and evaluate laboratory results daily using sponsor-designated central laboratory data.

  • Analyze laboratory data at pre-determined intervals from eDC or data management platforms.

  • Perform preliminary review of lab results against protocol-specific reference ranges.

  • Identify clinically significant changes in lab data and request additional clinical information from investigator sites.

  • Serve as a liaison between IQVIA Medical Services, sponsor-designated labs, and project teams.

  • Stay current with laboratory science through continuous education or medical seminars.

  • Identify potential trends or significant shifts in lab data and alert IQVIA Medical Advisors.

  • Communicate relevant clinical information to the project team that may affect study outcomes.

  • Collaborate with central lab staff to ensure appropriate data monitoring and subject reporting.

  • Support the Lead Medical Surveillance Specialist in project setup activities.

  • Participate in project team meetings as necessary.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 


Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Allied Health Sciences (pharmacy, biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, nursing, physiotherapy), or Healthcare (medical, homeopathy, ayurveda, dentistry).

  • 2 to 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 2.5 years in medical surveillance (required).

  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret scientific and clinical data from various sources.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in data management and word processing software.

  • Strong analytical, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with coworkers, managers, and clients.
