About the Role

This Medical Science Liaison (MSL) position supports scientific engagement and clinical education across the Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease therapeutic areas. The role is field-based, focused on developing strategic scientific relationships, delivering clinical insights to healthcare professionals, and guiding medical education initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.

The MSL acts as a scientific expert, ensuring high-quality medical exchange with clinicians, researchers, academic institutions, and key opinion leaders. This role also contributes to territory planning, clinical trial support, and cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Sales, and other internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

Scientific and Clinical Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong scientific relationships with healthcare professionals, KOLs, academic institutions, and organized healthcare systems.

  • Provide advanced clinical and scientific education related to Alzheimer’s Disease and neurology therapeutic solutions.

  • Represent the organization at scientific congresses, medical forums, and professional meetings.

Field-Based Medical Support

  • Deliver expert-level scientific presentations to healthcare providers and clinical teams.

  • Support clinical trial sites across all study phases, ensuring alignment with protocol requirements.

  • Facilitate study-related training, patient recruitment support, and data discussion when appropriate.

Strategic Territory and Account Management

  • Develop and execute territory-specific medical plans based on healthcare system needs, scientific trends, and internal priorities.

  • Identify collaborative opportunities that support clinical education, product understanding, and evidence-based decision-making.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to address scientific inquiries, support product access discussions, and deliver clinical insights.

Administrative and Compliance Responsibilities

  • Complete documentation, medical activity reports, and expenses in accordance with compliance standards and SOPs.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant medical guidelines, product data, and organizational procedures.

  • Submit monthly activity reports, territory insights, and budget updates.


Qualifications

  • Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD, PhD or related clinical/scientific discipline).

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a health system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment.

  • Strong clinical knowledge in Neurology, with extensive experience in Alzheimer’s Disease strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated business acumen, preferably including experience supporting formulary processes.

  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interpret and present scientific data.

  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel 50–75 percent including overnight travel.


Experience Level Required

  • 2+ years of industry or healthcare system experience in Medical Affairs, clinical practice, or pharmaceutical field-based roles.

  • Significant therapeutic expertise in Neurology, ideally with hands-on exposure to Alzheimer’s Disease.

  • Prior experience building scientific relationships and engaging with KOLs, academic centers, and healthcare networks.

  • Experience supporting clinical trial activities, medical education, or cross-functional medical strategy.


Work Environment

  • Field-based role covering West Texas and New Mexico.

  • Frequent travel to healthcare facilities, academic centers, and clinical sites.


Compensation

Estimated annual base salary range: USD 150,000 – USD 220,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic factors. Additional incentives, bonuses, and benefits may apply based on the position offered.
