About the Role

Syneos Health is seeking an experienced Senior Medical Writer to lead and manage complex medical writing projects, including clinical journal manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and client presentations. The role requires a strong ability to mentor junior writers, ensure regulatory compliance, and produce high-quality, evidence-based scientific content for clinical development programs.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely or in a hybrid setup from Gurugram and provides exposure to global clinical trials, regulatory standards, and publication planning processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor junior medical writers on complex projects.

  • Serve as the primary lead for assigned writing deliverables, coordinating across data management, biostatistics, regulatory affairs, and medical affairs teams.

  • Develop and review documents, including:

    • Clinical journal manuscripts

    • Clinical abstracts and posters

    • Scientific presentations for clients

  • Conduct literature searches and summarize findings to support evidence-based writing.

  • Review statistical analysis plans and table/figure specifications for accuracy, grammar, format, and consistency.

  • Ensure adherence to journal/congress guidelines, SOPs, client standards, and approved templates.

  • Utilize figure-creation and data visualization tools (GraphPad Prism, Adobe Illustrator) to produce high-quality scientific graphics.

  • Apply publication planning tools (e.g., Datavision) to manage content deliverables.

  • Monitor project budgets and timelines, providing updates to medical writing leadership.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, regulatory requirements, and scientific guidelines.

  • Participate in peer review processes, providing constructive feedback on draft and final documents.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned; minimal travel (<25%) may be required.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related discipline.

  • Experience: 5+ years in medical writing for clinical research, pharmaceutical, or healthcare settings, with direct experience in abstracts, manuscripts, and scientific presentations.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory guidelines, journal standards, and medical publication practices.

  • Proficiency in literature evaluation, scientific writing, and data visualization.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and mentoring skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
