Role Overview – Senior Scientific Writer II:
Novartis is seeking an experienced Senior Scientific Writer II to create, manage, and deliver high-quality medical and scientific communications. The role involves preparing manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, and other publication-ready materials for internal medical teams or for presentation at scientific congresses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive literature reviews, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and slide sets, utilizing clinical study reports, protocols, patient profiles, and other data sources.

  • Perform quality control (QC) checks and proofreading to ensure scientific and medical accuracy and adherence to Novartis standards.

  • Manage multiple projects, supporting up to two brands simultaneously.

  • Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and implement effective customer management strategies.

  • Follow Novartis’ project management tools, templates, documentation standards, SOPs, and policies.

  • Maintain accurate records, project documentation, and ensure compliance with audit and training requirements.

  • Mentor and train new joiners and colleagues when required.

  • Execute additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Deliver high-quality outputs adhering to SOPs, compliance, timeliness, and productivity targets.

  • Uphold Novartis values and professional behavior in all assignments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Minimum healthcare-related degree; advanced degrees such as PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in medical communications, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Strong understanding of publication processes and Good Publication Practice (GPP) guidelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in matrix and multicultural environments with a strong customer-oriented mindset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Work Location & Schedule:

  • Hyderabad, India (Office-based)

  • Must be willing to work US business hours (up to 8:00 p.m. IST / 10:30 a.m. EST) and coordinate schedules for US holiday coverage or critical tasks as required.
