Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with expertise in Neurology, specifically Alzheimer’s Disease, to join our client’s Field Medical Affairs team in Northern California. This field-based role covers key territories including California, Nevada, and Arizona, and offers the opportunity to engage directly with healthcare professionals, clinical trial sites, and thought leaders to communicate scientific insights and support clinical research initiatives.

As a critical scientific liaison, the MSL will bridge the gap between the company and external medical communities, providing advanced clinical support, scientific education, and strategic account management. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong combination of clinical knowledge, analytical decision-making skills, and business acumen.


Key Responsibilities:

Scientific & Clinical Support:

  • Serve as a primary scientific liaison to physicians, academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and managed care entities within the territory.

  • Deliver accurate, evidence-based presentations on product pipeline and therapeutic areas, emphasizing clinical outcomes and benefits.

  • Collaborate with clinical trial sites to identify enrollment or screening barriers and provide medical solutions to enhance trial execution.

  • Support investigators and site personnel with knowledge of studies, protocols, and investigational molecules, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

  • Facilitate educational workshops, advisory boards, medical forums, and other scientific initiatives.

Relationship & Account Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), neurologists, Alzheimer’s Disease specialists, and healthcare teams.

  • Develop and execute territory-specific medical plans in alignment with Field Medical Affairs strategy.

  • Combine clinical expertise with business insight to foster collaborative opportunities and strategic partnerships.

  • Provide intelligence on competitive landscape, treatment paradigms, and research trends to internal stakeholders.

Administrative & Compliance Duties:

  • Maintain accurate documentation in CRM systems (e.g., VEEVA) and manage expense reporting in line with company policies.

  • Prepare monthly reports on scientific activities, budget adherence, and key performance metrics.

  • Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, legal, and internal company requirements, including GCP, ICH, and SOPs.

Travel & Field Requirements:

  • Position requires 50–75% overnight travel.

  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, relevant PhD, or equivalent) required.

  • Minimum two years of experience in a healthcare system, pharmaceutical company, or managed care environment.

  • Demonstrated expertise in neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease, including clinical and/or therapeutic experience.

  • Strong business acumen and understanding of formulary processes, clinical development, and medical strategy.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with clinical trial support, medical education initiatives, and KOL engagement.

  • Proven ability to work independently in a field-based environment while managing multiple accounts and priorities.


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive base pay range: $150,000 – $220,000 annually, with potential bonuses and incentives.
