Position Overview

The Medical Receptionist Float will support Pediatric Associates in Carrollton and surrounding locations, including MDK McKinney, MDK Prosper, MDK Bachman Lake, and MDK West Plano. This role involves welcoming patients, updating required information, processing payments, and ensuring smooth check-in and check-out experiences. Flexibility to float between multiple offices is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Check-In: Update patient demographics, insurance information, co-pays, and ensure consent signatures.
  • Patient Check-Out: Collect outstanding balances, provide visit summaries, specialist referrals, and schedule follow-up appointments.
  • Insurance Verification: Confirm active patient insurance, resolving discrepancies.
  • Charges and Payments: Post and reconcile patient charges and payments.
  • Documentation: Scan and upload patient documents into the management system.
  • General Office Tasks: Ensure cleanliness of work and patient areas, handle mail, and attend staff meetings.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong grammar, verbal communication, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to use office equipment and maintain patient confidentiality.
    • Experience with computer systems, scanners, printers, and medical terminology.

Working Conditions

  • Patient-facing with some remote/telework flexibility.
  • 15%-20% travel to different office locations.
  • Indoor work with sitting, standing, and light lifting (up to 10 lbs).

Physical Requirements

  • Good vision, sense of sound, touch, and smell.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
