Position Overview

As a Medical QA Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that medical records, documentation, and reports meet high standards of clarity, accuracy, and completeness. You will work closely with medical providers and the Veterans Administration to ensure the accurate delivery of Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs).


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and Verification:

    • Examine reports from medical providers for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
    • Ensure all medical coding and diagnostic testing are properly completed.
    • Confirm that all required tests and medical records are present.
  • Collaboration:

    • Coordinate with providers to clarify reports and address any discrepancies.
    • Work with internal scheduling teams to arrange additional appointments as needed.
  • Support for the VA:

    • Submit clear and concise questions to providers to resolve report inconsistencies.
    • Ensure documentation meets VA standards for quality and detail.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in the healthcare, medical, or insurance-related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
  • Experience in medical case management, medical scribing, chart audits, or quality assurance.
  • Ability to analyze medical reports and apply clinical reasoning.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and medical databases.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification or vocational training in healthcare (e.g., LVN, CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT).
  • Experience working with military medical examinations, VA processes, or disability claims.
  • Familiarity with general medical documentation standards.

Work Schedule and Training

  • Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM (on-site); Friday (remote).
  • Probationary Period:
    • 120-day period with performance objectives and feedback to determine readiness for the role.
    • Extensive training provided, including mentorship and coaching for 4-6 months.
  • Hybrid Schedule: Potentially available after training completion.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: Starting at $23.10/hour.
    • Increase to $23.79/hour after the probationary period (120 days).
    • Increase to $24.98/hour after completing training (4-6 months post-probation).
  • Bonuses:
    • Quarterly bonuses up to 6%.
    • Annual merit increases up to 5%.
