About the Role
Q² Solutions, the laboratory division of IQVIA, is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician (Special Chemistry) to join its advanced laboratory facility in Valencia, California. This role focuses on delivering accurate and timely laboratory results for clinical research studies while ensuring full compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform analytical testing and document results in accordance with SOPs, regulatory guidelines, and quality requirements.
Conduct routine data analysis, verify accuracy, and escalate unexpected findings to senior laboratory personnel.
Upload validated data to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) under supervision.
Participate in quality investigations, deviation analysis, and procedural updates.
Prepare laboratory solutions, reagents, and buffers to support daily testing activities.
Assist in training, onboarding, and competency-based skill development for junior staff.
Maintain laboratory instruments, including calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Support cross-functional projects and communicate findings clearly and effectively.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science; medical laboratory technology; or cytotechnology (required).
MLT License (mandatory).
Minimum 6 months of experience in a CAP/CLIA-regulated laboratory environment preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Proficiency with laboratory automation, analytical techniques, and safety protocols.
Skills and Competencies
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple parallel tasks.
Knowledge of GLP, laboratory safety practices, and infection control procedures.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting; and high visual focus for computer-based tasks.
Ability to work in varying temperatures including occasional exposure to cold environments.
Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation
Annual base pay range: $41,400 – $86,100, dependent on experience, qualifications, location, and scheduling factors. Additional compensation may include bonuses, incentive programs, and comprehensive benefits.
