Compensation:

  • Hourly Rate: $21.84 – $23.84, depending on experience and skills

Position Schedule:

  • Days: Monday – Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately analyze and code primary care charts, and code dental/mental health charts after training.
  • Adhere to federal and state coding requirements.
  • Implement Orchid-specific coding requirements for various certifications.
  • Be available to assist staff with coding/charting inquiries.
  • Complete chart coding within five days post-service.
  • Address patient billing inquiries professionally.
  • Post patient and insurance payments to accounts.
  • Collect outstanding payments and arrange payment plans when necessary.
  • Conduct billing audits for accuracy once trained.
  • Audit medical charting to ensure proper documentation.
  • Monitor and correct chart errors in the EHR system.
  • Learn and navigate the necessary software and systems.
  • Analyze and input medical records as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, integrity, and teamwork.
  • Compassionate and professional interaction with patients.
  • Adherence to the Commitment to Co-worker Agreement.
  • Maintain professionalism in a high-pressure medical environment.
  • Open to feedback and able to adapt performance accordingly.

Education and Experience:

  • Certification in ICD-10 and CPT II coding.
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience as a Medical Coder (SBHC and/or RHC experience preferred).

Work Environment:

Team members may encounter viruses and infections and may work extended hours at a computer, using standard office equipment.

Physical Demands:

  • Requires regular standing, sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Extended periods of sitting and close vision for computer work.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be necessary.

Travel:

Minimal travel required, typically 1-2 clinic visits annually, plus in-person meetings as needed.
