This job description is for a Medical Affairs Role at Pfizer, focusing on providing deep medical and scientific expertise in a nominated therapy area. Key Responsibilities:

  • Medical Strategy and Scientific Expertise:

    • Develop and implement local medical strategies for Pfizer’s inline and pipeline medicines.
    • Communicate the value and safe use of Pfizer products to improve patient outcomes and clinical practices.
    • Create innovative, balanced educational and scientific content for healthcare professionals and other stakeholders.
    • Actively advocate for the patient voice in medical strategy development.
  • Partnerships and Collaboration:

    • Establish Pfizer as a key research partner within the life sciences, building collaborations with healthcare professionals and academic institutions.
    • Provide scientific input and support to various internal teams, including commercial teams, to ensure appropriate product use.
    • Liaise with healthcare professionals to manage drug safety issues and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Data Generation and Publications:

    • Identify data gaps for pipeline assets and work on real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) generation.
    • Lead efforts to publish data from non-interventional studies and collaborate with the Health & Value team.
    • Oversee the timely publication of research and scientific findings.
  • Clinical Development:

    • Provide input on clinical trial protocols, feasibility assessments, and investigator selection.
    • Support the design of clinical trials relevant to local needs, leveraging clinician insights.
    • Oversee compassionate use programs to ensure appropriate access to medications.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Provide medical expertise for regulatory submissions, risk management plans, and label updates.
    • Support the development of customer-focused digital solutions in partnership with digital medical teams.
    • Review and approve promotional materials in compliance with local regulations.
  • External Engagement and Communication:

    • Present high-quality, balanced scientific content through digital channels and formats such as webinars, videos, and peer-reviewed publications.
    • Facilitate advisory boards and gain clinical and patient insights to shape future strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Medical Doctor or Pharmacist with Ph.D. (exception may apply for internal colleagues with similar experience).
  • Experience:
    • Pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in medical affairs.
    • Strong knowledge of national healthcare systems, health economics, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory affairs.
    • Experience with RWD/RWE generation and clinical research is preferred.
