Job Summary

The Medical Advisor will serve as the scientific foundation for the Therapeutic Area (TA) medical strategy. This role involves leading medical affairs activities, engaging with key thought leaders, supporting product strategy, and facilitating scientific exchange within cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Scientific Leadership

  • Serve as a core scientific member of the cross-functional franchise team, contributing to the development and execution of the TA medical strategy.

  • Conceptualize, plan, and manage diverse medical affairs initiatives (research, publications, medical education, patient support programs).

  • Act as a Therapeutic Area expert, ensuring the scientific credibility of internal and external communications.

Thought Leader Engagement

  • Identify, map, and engage key opinion leaders (KOLs) to build strong scientific relationships.

  • Lead peer-to-peer scientific discussions to disseminate clinical insights and support appropriate product usage.

Medical Affairs Execution

  • Oversee the implementation of strategic medical plans across regional teams — including product education, medical training, and special projects.

  • Support the sales and marketing teams with scientific training and medical updates.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with marketing, clinical, regulatory, and strategy teams to align medical initiatives with business goals.

  • Ensure compliance with all medical, ethical, and regulatory standards governing pharmaceutical industry interactions.


Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • MBBS with MD (Pharmacology/Medicine) or a full-time postgraduate qualification in any medical discipline.

Experience:

  • 2–4 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or research industry as a Medical Advisor or in a related capacity.


Skills & Attributes

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in medical writing, clinical trial methodologies, and ICH-GCP principles (preferred).

  • Strong understanding of Indian regulatory frameworks (MCI Code of Ethics, UCPMP Code, Drugs & Cosmetics Act).

  • Expertise in research methodologies and scientific data interpretation.

  • Strategic mindset with strong scientific acumen and communication skills.

  • Experience working in complex business environments and cross-functional settings.
