Job Overview

Genmab, a global biotechnology leader, is seeking a Manager, Trial Budget Oversight to support the financial planning, development, and monitoring of clinical trial budgets. The role ensures accuracy, transparency, and alignment of trial budgets with program strategies and financial plans. Working closely with Development Operations Program Leads (DOPLs), Global Trial Leads (GTLs), Finance, and other cross-functional stakeholders, the Manager will contribute to optimizing clinical development resources while ensuring fiscal responsibility.

This position is key to Genmab’s mission of maintaining robust financial stewardship and supporting the successful execution of clinical trials across the portfolio.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Trial Budget Development & Oversight

  • Support creation, alignment, and maintenance of clinical trial budgets across studies.

  • Participate in scenario planning and modeling for proposed trial designs.

  • Review budget inputs, identify risks or discrepancies, and recommend optimization opportunities.

  • Ensure trial budgets are aligned with program strategies and overall financial plans.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with DOPLs, GTLs, and Finance to review budgets and provide reporting support.

  • Facilitate monthly accruals, variance analysis, and budget review meetings.

  • Train stakeholders on budgeting processes, tools, and standards.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for budget-related inquiries and issue resolution.

Tool & Process Improvement

  • Contribute to development and optimization of budgeting tools, ERP systems, and templates.

  • Support rollout of process enhancements and budget governance initiatives.

  • Ensure adherence to internal standards for budget planning, tracking, and reporting.

Vendor & Contract Oversight Support

  • Monitor vendor budgets and change orders to assess trial budget impact.

  • Collaborate with Development Sourcing, Vendor Management, and Finance to ensure alignment with contractual terms.

  • Serve as an expert on Development Operations purchase orders (POs) and liaise with Global Procurement as needed.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Life Sciences, or related field; Master’s preferred

  • 5–7 years of experience in clinical trial budgeting, finance, or clinical operations within biotech or pharmaceutical organizations

  • Proven ability to manage trial-level budgets and financial oversight for multiple studies

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills

  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment

  • Knowledge of ERP systems, budgeting tools, and clinical trial finance processes

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills


Compensation (United States)

Salary Range: USD 122,480 – 183,720 annually

Actual salary will depend on candidate qualifications, experience, and location. Additional incentives may include performance-based bonuses and long-term compensation programs.
