Job Overview

Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is seeking an accomplished finance professional for the role of Manager I – Capital and GTS Reporting. This position plays a strategic role in Capital Planning & Analysis, enabling high-impact financial decision-making and supporting long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, leadership skills, and cross-functional collaboration experience to drive excellence in capital allocation and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Capital Planning

  • Lead and refine the organization's capital planning framework to ensure alignment with business strategies.

  • Forecast long-term capital requirements by evaluating market trends, business expansion, and regulatory changes.

  • Present capital plans to senior leadership and support investment decision-making.

  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate capital projects, analyze feasibility, risks, and ROI.

Capital Analysis & Investment Evaluation

  • Conduct detailed financial modeling and analysis for capital investments.

  • Evaluate proposals for capital expenditures, expansions, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.

  • Maintain forward-looking models for capital needs, funding sources, and risk-adjusted returns.

  • Recommend optimized capital allocation strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Financial Performance Measurement & Reporting

  • Establish KPIs and frameworks to measure capital investment effectiveness.

  • Prepare executive-level reports on capital utilization, project status, and financial outcomes.

  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting aligned with internal controls.

Risk Management

  • Identify financial and operational risks related to capital investments.

  • Develop mitigation strategies, perform scenario planning, and stay updated on regulatory and industry developments.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and cross-functional partners including Treasury, Corporate Development, Strategy, and Operations.

  • Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Process Improvement & Innovation

  • Improve capital planning methodologies, reporting tools, and analytical models.

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives using advanced analytics and automation.

  • Implement best practices in financial analysis and capital allocation.


Capex Reporting – Major Duties

  • Coordinate with Engineering teams to gather and consolidate Capex project details.

  • Develop Capex budgets, forecasts, and projection presentations.

  • Prepare financial planning and management reports for leadership review.

  • Provide variance analyses, trend identification, and standard reporting dashboards.

  • Support monthly operational reviews with insights and data-driven recommendations.

  • Execute special projects and ad-hoc analyses with high accuracy and timeliness.


Relationship Management

  • Engage with Engineering and cross-functional teams to support monthly business reviews.

  • Maintain strong communication, stakeholder alignment, and execution excellence.

  • Drive accountability for timelines, quality, and reporting standards.


Risk Management Support

  • Identify material risks and opportunities within capital plans.

  • Collaborate with Engineering leadership to support effective execution of Capex initiatives.


Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 5–7 years in Finance, Capital Planning, FP&A, or related domains.

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and strategic planning skills.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and present to senior leadership.

  • Experience in capital allocation, reporting, and performance measurement.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
