Your Role as Manager, Global Patient Safety

This position is part of the Safety Operations team within Global Patient Safety (GPS) and is responsible for the oversight and management of one or more areas within GPS. The role involves managing team workflows and overseeing training activities for all direct reports.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of assigned staff and/or outsourced vendors.
  • Provide direct leadership, including mentoring, performance management, and staffing decisions.
  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with other Baxter business groups.
  • Review and monitor quality control metrics and compliance reports, implementing corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Participate in and/or lead internal and cross-functional meetings.
  • Serve as an expert in handling sensitive staff and customer issues, including interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure team awareness of departmental priorities through effective communication.
  • Assist with regulatory inspections (e.g., FDA, EMEA) and internal audits.
  • Collaborate with other Baxter departments (e.g., IT, Regulatory) as needed.
  • Represent Global Pharmacovigilance on cross-functional teams and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) efforts.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage and train others effectively.
  • Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in tasks.
  • Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of global pharmacovigilance regulations, processes, and requirements.
  • Medical Knowledge: Solid understanding of medical and clinical concepts.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in nursing, pharmacy, or a relevant scientific field (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 1 year of management experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in pharmacovigilance or a related discipline.
  • Expertise with global pharmacovigilance regulations and processes.
