Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Medical Communications and Content Solutions (MCCS), serves as a subject matter expert responsible for developing, reviewing, and delivering high-quality, scientifically accurate medical content across multiple formats. This role focuses on complex publications and external-facing materials, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational guidelines. The position drives innovation in medical communication, including digital, dynamic, interactive, and modular content formats, and provides leadership and mentorship to team members.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Content Development and Review

  • Independently develop and review medical affairs content, including abstracts, manuscripts, congress posters/presentations, graphical abstracts, systematic literature reviews, plain language summaries, slide decks, medical education resources, social media, infographics, videos, multimedia, and other external-facing content.

  • Conduct research, compile, organize, interpret, and quality-check complex medical and technical information to produce accurate and high-quality content.

  • Review drafts from team members to ensure clarity, accuracy, appropriateness for target audience, and adherence to internal guidelines and checklists.

  • Provide solutions and guidance to authors and collaborate with graphics, compliance, statistics, and AI teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Training and Knowledge Management

  • Train team members on writing, presentation skills, content development processes, and quality standards.

  • Ensure proficiency in tools, technologies, and generative AI platforms for efficient and compliant content execution.

  • Develop and maintain repositories for therapeutic area knowledge and internal process documentation such as checklists and process maps.

Stakeholder Engagement and Leadership

  • Maintain strong working relationships and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, representing the team at Scientific Publication Committee Meetings as needed.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert and role model for the MCCS team, guiding best practices and innovative medical communication strategies.

  • Track project progress, resolve issues with guidance from the Team Lead, and ensure timely delivery of all projects in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

Innovation and Industry Best Practices

  • Stay updated on trends and best practices in medical communications and content development.

  • Drive adoption of advanced content formats, technologies, and digital tools to enhance impact and efficiency.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and innovation across the broader MCCS team.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced scientific degree (MRes, MPharm, MSc, PhD, PharmD, MBBS/MD, MPH).

  • 7+ years of experience in medical writing or content development within pharmaceutical companies, CROs, biotech, or academic settings.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently from concept to execution.

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in English verbal and written communication, adaptable for diverse audiences.

  • Knowledge of technology applications in medical content development and familiarity with digital and AI-enabled tools.


Preferred Qualifications

  • ISMPP-CMPP® certification.

  • Experience in multimedia and omnichannel content creation.

  • Proven ability to adopt and implement new digital content technologies rapidly.

  • Global exposure through work or education in medical communications.

  • Demonstrated expertise in therapeutic areas and innovative publications.
