Role Overview
The Local Case Intake Team Manager will lead the local case intake process for Japan regulatory reporting. The role requires managing a team, ensuring high-quality and compliant processing of Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs), and maintaining regulatory compliance with AstraZeneca standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the local case intake team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
Oversee intake, processing, and reporting of ICSRs in compliance with pharmacovigilance regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate case processing for all patient safety cases.
Monitor and analyze case intake metrics, prepare reports, and identify improvement areas.
Stay updated on local and global pharmacovigilance regulations and maintain SOPs.
Participate in audits and inspections, ensuring audit readiness.
Act as liaison between local and global teams for changes in pharmacovigilance operations.
Participate in ad-hoc global, regional, or local case handling projects.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Degree: Pharmacy, Medical, or Science
Experience: 2–5 years of team management in life sciences or pharmacovigilance
Life-science background
Languages:
Japanese proficiency (JLPT N2 or higher)
English proficiency (B1 Threshold, CEFR)
Ability to work in fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
Excellent leadership, team management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Strong attention to detail, priority management, and strategic influence abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication
Desirable Qualifications / Skills
Higher degree (MBA, PhD) in a relevant field
Thorough knowledge and experience in pharmacovigilance and regulatory developments
Experience in pharmaceutical industry pharmacovigilance operations
