Position Summary:
The Lab Scientist – Spatial Biology will be a key contributor to Leica’s Boston Innovation Lab. You will design and execute multiplexed imaging projects involving tissue and cell preparation, fluorescence imaging, and data analysis. This is a hands-on, on-site role where you’ll partner with the Principal Scientist and collaborate with Leica’s R&D and product development teams to deliver innovative spatial biology workflows and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement routine end-to-end multiplex imaging workflows.

  • Execute imaging studies involving advanced tissue staining and analysis.

  • Collaborate on research, product development, and technology validation.

  • Interface with customers and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to identify pain points and co-create impactful spatial biology solutions.

  • Contribute to scientific communications such as reports, presentations, application notes, and publications.

  • Maintain lab operations including antibody handling, supply management, and equipment upkeep.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in biological sciences or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of scientific research experience relevant to spatial biology.

  • Expertise in tissue staining, fluorescence imaging, and image analysis.

  • Experience with antibody conjugation and lab management.

  • Ability to design experiments, analyze complex data, troubleshoot, and follow SOPs.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including scientific documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with multiplexed or iterative imaging.

  • Proficiency in advanced fluorescence microscopy techniques.

  • Background in advanced image analysis tools for biology.

Other Requirements:

  • Approximately 10% domestic and international travel.
