Bemdaneprocel, an experimental cell therapy for PD, has been granted Fast Track and Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy (RMAT) designations by the US FDA. Its Phase 1 manuscript was featured on the cover of Nature (May 22, 2025), and a Phase 3 registrational study is currently ongoing. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead the medical and evidence strategy for a first-in-class therapy with transformative potential.

Role Overview

The Global Medical & Evidence (GME) Strategy Lead is a high-impact, high-visibility position on the Bemdaneprocel Product Leadership Team. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to deliver integrated medical and evidence strategies to support successful commercial launch. The incumbent will partner with internal teams (BlueRock, Bayer capability clusters, and global markets) and external stakeholders to define and execute evidence generation and medical affairs strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-create product strategy to maximize clinical, commercial, and patient impact.

  • Lead medical and evidence subteams to implement the integrated GME plan, ensuring alignment across global and regional teams.

  • Provide thought leadership and act as Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coach (VACC) for evidence-based strategies.

  • Translate business challenges into evidence-driven solutions, leveraging traditional and innovative research methods, including Real World Evidence (RWE), observational studies, and natural history studies.

  • Advance clinical development insights and interpret results from ongoing trials, GME-sponsored studies, Investigator-Sponsored Studies (ISCS), and Independent Investigator Research (IIR) projects.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with global and regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and stakeholders.

  • Oversee planning and execution of scientific symposia, congresses, and other medical events globally.

  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration across product, commercial, and medical teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or equivalent degree.

  • 10+ years of experience in Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, or Evidence Generation in a global pharmaceutical or biotechnology organization.

  • Strong expertise in Parkinson’s Disease or neurologic disorders, including both established and emerging therapies.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic evidence planning, RWE, and global medical affairs leadership.

  • Proven ability to manage senior internal and external stakeholders and influence cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • High learning agility and the ability to adapt to complex scientific and commercial environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship or specialty training in Neurology, Movement Disorders, or Neurosurgery.

  • Launch experience in advanced therapies, preferably in cell therapy or gene therapy.

  • Experience with cell therapy development and commercialization.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Estimated Salary Range: $299,695 – $449,542 (may vary by location, experience, and qualifications)

  • Additional compensation may include bonus or commission, health care, dental, vision, retirement benefits, PTO, and more.

Why Bayer?

  • Lead a first-in-class therapy in a transformative area of Parkinson’s Disease care.

  • Work in a collaborative global environment with cutting-edge cell and gene therapy teams.

  • Opportunity to shape medical and evidence strategy for a pioneering therapy with high societal impact.
