About the Role

The Global Head of Immunology Franchise Medical Strategy and Innovation will report to the Global Medical Head – Next Generation Immunology.
This role is responsible for developing a unified global medical strategy for Sanofi’s immunology portfolio—ensuring consistent messaging, effective evidence generation, and strategic alignment across R&D, Commercial, and Medical Affairs.

You’ll lead global planning, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives to optimize patient impact and strengthen Sanofi’s medical excellence across all immunology therapeutic areas (TAs).


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global medical portfolio strategy aligned with business and patient priorities.

  • Define cross-TA strategic planning frameworks:

    • Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP)

    • Integrated Scientific Communication Plan (iSCP)

    • Insight Generation Plan (IGP)

    • Integrated Scientific Engagement Plan (iSEP)

  • Govern medical strategic planning across TAs to ensure efficiency, consistency, and value-driven decision-making.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with global and regional medical franchise teams to align with the Specialty Care GBU and Sanofi’s overall company strategy.

  • Foster collaboration between R&D, Medical, and Commercial teams to ensure unified decision-making and impactful communications.

  • Strengthen partnerships with external experts and organizations to accelerate innovation.

Innovation and Digital Transformation

  • Drive digital transformation in Medical through AI-enabled tools for insight generation, evidence creation, and scientific engagement.

  • Identify and integrate emerging AI and data technologies to strengthen long-term strategic capabilities.

Medical Excellence and Launch Readiness

  • Lead launch excellence initiatives across therapeutic areas by creating global frameworks, KPIs, and best practices.

  • Shape the scientific narrative for inflammation and immunology in alignment with Sanofi’s global medical strategy.


About You

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) required.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

  • Strong background in Immunology or related therapeutic areas.

  • Demonstrated leadership in global matrix organizations and experience managing cross-functional, cross-regional teams.

Skills & Expertise

  • Deep understanding of Medical Affairs strategy, evidence generation, and lifecycle management.

  • Expertise in KOL/DOL engagement, medical governance, and portfolio management.

  • Strong strategic thinking, influencing, and decision-making abilities.

  • Proven success in driving digital and organizational transformation.
