Job Title: Manufacturing Technician

Location: On Premise (North Carolina - Rocky Mount)
Department: Manufacturing Operations

What You Will Achieve:

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will operate both automatic and manual chemical process equipment to support production processes. You will be responsible for ensuring quality control through in-process batch testing, identifying variations, and addressing process deviations. You will also be trained in hazardous material handling and emergency procedures.

Your ability to prioritize tasks, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively with your team will directly contribute to the success of Pfizer’s manufacturing goals.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Process Equipment Operation:

    • Operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment (e.g., filter presses, pumps, agitators) according to procedures.

    • Perform equipment maintenance, adjustments, and repairs as required.

  • Quality Control and Documentation:

    • Perform quality control analyses and document results according to Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

    • Maintain accurate records for solution manufacturing and complete work orders as required.

    • Perform in-process pH checks and adjust as necessary.

  • Materials Handling:

    • Weigh, measure, and charge ingredients for solution manufacture.

    • Participate in material receiving, staging, transfer, dispensing, sampling, and charging operations.

  • Safety and Troubleshooting:

    • Investigate and report safety and quality incidents.

    • Troubleshoot operating deviations and coordinate with other functions to resolve issues.

    • Follow safety and environmental guidelines, contributing to meeting production goals.

  • Support Shutdowns and Maintenance:

    • Proactively support scheduled shutdowns, including creating punch lists and working with the maintenance team to ensure successful completion.


Qualifications:

Must-Have:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a chemical or formulation manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of industry practices and standards.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.

  • Effective communication skills (both written and oral).

  • Computer skills, including Microsoft applications and experience with System Application & Products.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.


Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, holidays, nights, and weekends as required.

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to work with hazardous materials and follow safety protocols.


Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $24.88 to $41.46 per hour.

  • Additional Pay: Eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday, and other pay premiums.
