The Opportunity – Abbott Heart Failure (HF)
Abbott HF develops medical devices for heart failure treatment, focusing on hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support.
The Director of Medical Affairs will join a team of specialists dedicated to the safe and effective use of Abbott HF devices.
This role reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Key Responsibilities
Medical and Regulatory Support
Develop medical opinions, medical platform documents, and Health Hazard Assessments.
Provide medical input for promotional, commercial, and regulatory activities.
Serve as medical representative on Risk Evaluation Teams.
Support investigation teams and MDR (Medical Device Reporting) when required.
Update and revise medical affairs procedural documents as needed.
Contribute to quality/regulatory communications, technical bulletins, and directives.
Customer and External Engagement
Participate in direct customer interactions involving medical content.
Manage Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS) and Research Grant Programs regionally.
Provide input or develop professional education content.
Document and manage off-label discussions appropriately.
Support the CMO in Key Opinion Leader (KOL) and professional society engagement.
Product Development
Offer medical input during new product development and clinical strategy discussions.
