Job Summary

The Director, Clinical Development – Hematology/Oncology will play a key role in the clinical strategy, execution, and oversight of global clinical development programs. This position involves leading clinical trials, regulatory interactions, and external collaborations, ensuring high-quality clinical research in hematology and oncology.


Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead global clinical development plans and protocols for hematology/oncology programs.

  • Provide strategic input on new product concepts, long-term plans, and life-cycle management.

  • Review and approve clinical study reports, regulatory documents, and submissions (IND/NDA).

Trial Management & Medical Monitoring

  • Serve as medical monitor for hematology/oncology clinical trials.

  • Collaborate with CROs and study investigators on eligibility criteria and patient safety.

  • Oversee safety and efficacy data interpretation and provide recommendations.

  • Ensure compliance with GCP, MedDRA safety coding, and pharmacovigilance processes.

External Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with clinical investigators and key opinion leaders.

  • Engage with regulatory agencies, cooperative groups, and external collaborators.

  • Represent Jazz Pharmaceuticals in cross-functional teams and at industry conferences.


Required Qualifications & Skills

Education & Licensure

  • MD or equivalent required.

  • Board Eligibility/Certification in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology preferred.

  • US medical licensure and/or clinical practice experience preferred.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in academic or pharmaceutical clinical development.

  • Strong expertise in hematology/oncology global clinical trials.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in GCP, drug safety, and pharmacovigilance regulations.

  • Ability to travel up to 30-40% as required.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range:

  • $240,000 – $360,000 per year (based on qualifications and experience).
