Position Overview

Omega Healthcare is seeking an experienced Deputy General Manager – Delivery to lead and oversee medical coding delivery operations.

This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, team performance, and continuous process improvement across the medical coding function.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in multispecialty medical coding, strong people leadership experience, and a proven ability to manage large-scale delivery operations in a healthcare/BPO environment.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, manage, and mentor large medical coding teams to ensure high performance, accountability, and employee engagement.
  • Drive professional development through:
    • Regular coaching

    • Skill enhancement programs
  • Build a culture of operational excellence, compliance, and continuous learning.

Operational Management

  • Oversee end-to-end daily medical coding operations.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant coding of healthcare services.
  • Monitor workflow performance against:
    • Productivity targets
    • Service level agreements (SLAs)
    • Quality benchmarks
    • Operational KPIs
  • Optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with:
    • HIPAA regulations
    • Medical coding standards
    • Internal compliance frameworks
    • Client-specific coding requirements
  • Review coding outputs for:
    • Accuracy
    • Completeness
    • Coding guideline adherence
  • Maintain expertise in:
    • ICD-10
    • CPT
    • HCPCS
  • Lead audits, internal reviews, and corrective action planning.
  • Develop strategies to reduce coding errors, claim denials, and compliance risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with:
    • Clinical teams
    • Billing departments
    • Revenue cycle teams
    • Administrative stakeholders
    • Insurance partners
    • Healthcare providers
  • Resolve coding-related escalations, discrepancies, and operational issues.

  • Prepare and present reports for senior leadership decision-making.
  • Use data-driven insights to improve performance and delivery outcomes.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

  • Identify and implement opportunities for:

  • Develop and maintain:
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in any discipline

Certifications (Mandatory)

Candidates must hold one or more relevant medical coding certifications such as:

  • CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
  • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
  • CCS-P (Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based)
