Position Summary
As a Clinical Research Physician (CRP) within the Neuroscience Business Unit - Medical Affairs, you will play a critical role in strategic planning, supporting product development, and ensuring successful product launches and commercialization efforts. In collaboration with global teams, you will provide expert medical support to enhance the customer experience across various stakeholders, including patients, healthcare providers (HCPs), and payers. Your responsibilities will span the entire drug development spectrum, including supporting clinical trial designs, data dissemination, regulatory affairs, and post-launch product support.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Business and Customer Support (Pre and Post-Launch)

    • Understand and anticipate the scientific needs of local and regional customers (payers, patients, healthcare providers).
    • Lead efforts to address customer inquiries by conducting data analysis and initiating new clinical or health outcomes research.
    • Contribute to the development of medical strategies supporting brand commercialization, working with cross-functional teams including global Medical Affairs, brand teams, and Clinical Management.
    • Offer medical expertise in developing payer partnership programs and defending product value during the commercialization phase.
    • Support the creation of promotional materials and provide scientific input for patient support programs.
  2. Scientific Data Dissemination and Exchange

    • Ensure compliance with local and global guidelines for scientific communication and data dissemination.
    • Lead and present at scientific meetings, advisory boards, and congresses.
    • Collaborate with medical information teams to address health care professionals’ scientific inquiries.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with scientific experts and thought leaders.
  3. Clinical Planning and Execution

    • Collaborate with global teams to ensure local clinical programs address regional customer needs.
    • Represent clinical needs during the development of drug life cycle plans, clinical strategies, and study protocol designs.
    • Monitor clinical trial progress, ensuring adherence to Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and local regulations.
  4. Regulatory Support and Documentation

    • Assist in the preparation of regulatory submissions and ensure proper documentation.
    • Support interactions with regulatory agencies, offering medical expertise during advisory committees and label discussions.
    • Participate in risk management planning and clinical safety reviews.
  5. Scientific Expertise and Continued Development

    • Stay updated on trends in clinical practice and new developments in neuroscience and psychiatry.
    • Serve as a scientific consultant, offering protocol expertise and participating in study teams.
    • Attend and contribute to relevant medical congresses and scientific symposia.
  6. General Responsibilities

    • Participate in local or business unit medical budget preparation and administration.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to colleagues, supporting their career development.
    • Collaborate with business, vendor, and partner teams to ensure successful project execution.
    • Contribute to recruitment and retention efforts to promote a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Board eligibility or certification in the appropriate specialty/subspecialty is required, or completion of equivalent clinical training relevant to the country of hiring.
  • Completed education and training at a medical school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical research or pharmaceutical medicine experience.
  • Scientific expertise in psychiatry or addiction medicine, with a track record of peer-reviewed publications in the field (5+ articles in the past decade).
  • Experience supporting the launch of medicines at Lilly or similar companies.
  • Ability to balance scientific and business priorities and contribute to both.
  • Proven record of excellence in implementing strategies that support business goals.

  • Ability to engage in domestic and international travel as required.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.

Salary Information

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $198,000 - $336,600 annually, depending on education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
