Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $210,000 - $330,000, dependent on experience, education, and location
  • Bonus: Eligible for company performance-based bonus

Role Overview:

The Clinical Research Physician (CRP) within the Oncology Global Medical Affairs team at Lilly plays a key role in supporting strategic planning, drug development, and commercialization efforts aimed at improving outcomes for cancer patients. This position will focus on precision medicine and lung cancer. The CRP will contribute medical and scientific expertise to improve therapeutic strategies and patient outcomes while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Environmental Insights and Customer Engagement:

  • Understand and address the scientific needs of oncologists, payers, patients, and healthcare providers.
  • Engage with external customers through 1:1 meetings, advisory boards, and congress activities.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key oncology thought leaders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop medical strategies supporting pre- and post-commercialization activities.
  • Contribute to the identification and resolution of oncology care gaps.
  • Support internal field training for medical and commercial personnel.
  • Stay updated on emerging oncology data and trends.

Evidence Generation:

  • Identify scientific evidence gaps and propose evidence generation plans.
  • Drive scientific disclosure strategies and collaborate on clinical trial design.
  • Work with clinical development to support drug development plans.
  • Lead and collaborate in investigator-initiated research (IIR) and publications.

Scientific Data Dissemination:

  • Address the scientific information needs of external customers, ensuring compliance with global procedures.
  • Analyze and communicate scientific data, translating it into medical disclosures.
  • Contribute to medical education initiatives, including congress symposia and continuing medical education (CME).
  • Lead the creation of external disclosures (e.g., abstracts, posters, manuscripts).
  • Review and contribute to medical materials, including slide decks and promotional content.

General Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively across teams to execute medical priorities.
  • Adapt to changes in the clinical landscape and priorities.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Shape thoracic and diagnostic strategies for both U.S. and global markets.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), board eligible or certified in an appropriate specialty/subspecialty.
  • Must have completed medical education at an LCME-accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Oncology clinical experience is preferred.
    • Clinical research or pharmaceutical medicine experience is highly preferred.
    • Expertise in lung cancer or precision medicine is a plus.
    • Knowledge of drug development and/or medical affairs is preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence internal and external teams.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for the role.
  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
