About the Internship

Genmab’s Clinical and Statistical Programming Internship provides graduate students with hands-on exposure to drug development programming, preparing them for careers in clinical research and pharmaceutical data science. Interns will gain practical experience in SDTM and ADaM datasets, cross-partner collaboration, tool development, and process optimization, while also exploring emerging technologies including R, Python, AI, and machine learning frameworks.


Key Responsibilities

Technical Exposure:

  • Participate in production or QC of SDTM datasets, including writing programs and performing validation/acceptance testing.

  • Gain hands-on experience with programming languages such as SAS, R, and Python.

  • Develop tools to automate and accelerate programming tasks.

Clinical Research Integration:

  • Learn industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements for clinical and statistical programming.

  • Support reporting and visualization of clinical trial data.

  • Understand applications, computing environments, and utility tools used in programming workflows.

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence:

  • Apply continuous improvement principles to optimize programming and clinical data processes.

  • Participate in process mapping and workflow analysis to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.

  • Contribute to documentation, SOP optimization, and metrics tracking.

Professional Development & Capstone Project:

  • Weekly mentorship meetings with Senior Clinical Programmers or Team Leads.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Biostatistics and Data Management.

  • Complete a capstone project based on a real programming assignment and present results to the Extended Programming Leadership Team.


Required Qualifications

  • First- or second-year Master’s student in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related field.

  • Interest in clinical research and programming.

  • Basic understanding of clinical and statistical programming concepts.

  • Academic or industry experience with programming languages (SAS, R, Python) and exposure to AI/ML concepts, including large language models (LLMs).

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.

  • Basic knowledge of project management tools.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with process mapping or workflow documentation tools.

  • Familiarity with AI, machine learning, or LLM frameworks.


Intern Information

  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

  • Location: Princeton, NJ, USA.

  • Internship period: June – August 2026.

  • This role is not eligible for sponsorship.
