Job Summary

UCLA Health is hiring a Chief Technologist for PET/CT and PET/MRI to lead nuclear medicine operations across its premier medical campuses in Westwood and Santa Monica. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring compliance, quality, and operational excellence in delivering diagnostic and therapeutic imaging using radioactive materials. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence advanced imaging services within a world-class academic healthcare system.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee PET/CT and PET/MRI operations across multiple UCLA Health sites.

  • Supervise and lead nuclear medicine technologists to ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Manage compliance with safety protocols, federal/state regulations, and institutional standards.

  • Collaborate with physicians, health physicists, and radiology administrators.

  • Monitor and analyze clinical performance metrics for continuous quality improvement.

  • Manage cyclotron production and scheduling to support clinical and research imaging needs.

  • Lead integration of new imaging modalities and technologies.

  • Report directly to the Medical Director and Administrative Manager.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in nuclear medicine and PET/CT or PET/MRI imaging.

  • Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals, radiation safety, and imaging protocols.

  • Leadership experience in a clinical radiology or nuclear medicine setting.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Understanding of cyclotron production operations is a plus.

  • Certification(s) relevant to nuclear medicine (e.g., CNMT, ARRT-N) preferred.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional healthcare teams.
