Position Overview

As a Production Chemist in our Niacinamide department, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment and processes in the plant, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the plant as per the Shift In-charge’s instructions.
  • Perform operation and cleaning of equipment used in the process area.
  • Monitor environmental conditions in the process area to ensure optimal plant operation.
  • Regularly record all plant readings and maintain online Batch Production Records (BPRs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) documentation.
  • Ensure safe transfer of raw materials and handle materials (loading/unloading) per guidelines.
  • Collect process samples and follow safety precautions during the sampling process.
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards in the plant.
  • Adhere strictly to the permit system and report deviations from standard practices.
  • Perform packing and labeling activities as per SOP.
  • Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) in the plant.
  • Ensure plant housekeeping and maintain 5S standards.
  • Comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations (Responsible Care).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Diploma in Chemical Engineering, or
    • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of experience in continuous chemical or batch process operations in a manufacturing plant.

Key Competencies (Technical, Functional & Behavioral)

  • Operating knowledge of continuous and batch chemical processes.
  • Familiarity with reactors, filters, and centrifuges in batch processes.
  • Adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Experience with DCS/PLC-based plant operation.
  • Knowledge of distillation processes.
  • Ability to handle hazardous/toxic materials.
  • Understanding of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Work Environment & Safety

  • Maintain awareness of and strictly adhere to safety protocols and environmental standards.
  • Participate in Responsible Care initiatives focused on Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS).
