Job Purpose

The Budget Planning and Governance Manager will work closely with the IB Strategy Lead to analyze competition, assess industry trends, and evaluate macroeconomic factors impacting business performance. This role will provide strategic insights to business heads and management while also driving IB-level strategic projects to enhance physician and patient engagement.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Intelligence

  • Identify key business concerns and recommend corrective actions for long-term sustainability and profitability.
  • Analyze industry trends and suggest strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
  • Assess business health using key performance indicators like sales, marketing effectiveness, supply chain, budgeting, and HR metrics.
  • Track competitor activities, market developments, and therapy-specific insights to identify growth opportunities.
  • Review financial reports, sales forecasts, product profitability, and budget allocations.

2. Governance & Compliance

  • Oversee governance and compliance for IB Head's office, including monthly sales planning, business calls, reviews, board meeting preparations, and CXO updates.
  • Ensure stakeholders receive timely insights and recommendations for informed decision-making.
  • Develop and manage dashboards and frameworks for periodic business reviews.
  • Support IB Head in performance reviews across business clusters and divisions.
  • Track and update key action items for IB leadership.

3. Project Management

  • Assist in planning and executing strategic projects aligned with financial, operational, and market growth objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive organizational success.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings to track progress and address challenges.
  • Maintain project schedules, manage timelines, and ensure issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including consultants and agencies, to enhance business capabilities.

4. Strategy & Budget Planning

  • Analyze competitive landscape, market dynamics, and regulatory factors affecting the India market.
  • Develop and evaluate strategic growth initiatives for various business units.
  • Lead long-term strategic planning (LTSP) and India-level budget planning.
  • Set and track growth targets, identifying gaps and improvement areas.

Key Stakeholders & Interactions

  • Internal: India Rx Head, Commex Head, Cluster and BU Heads, Product & Marketing teams, HR, Market Research, SFE, Finance.
  • External: Agencies, Creative Teams, Health-tech Partners, Management Consultants.

Role Challenges

  • Managing senior stakeholders and cross-functional projects.
  • Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in a dynamic business environment.
  • Balancing multiple projects across therapeutic areas.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: MBA from a Tier-A institute.
  • Experience: 4-5+ years in business intelligence, governance, or strategic planning.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and presentation abilities.
    • Proficiency in business performance metrics.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Product and therapy knowledge (preferred).
