Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Records Coding Senior Associate to join our Healthcare BPO team in Coimbatore. This role is critical for ensuring accurate medical coding, maintaining documentation integrity, and providing quality control support within the coding team. You will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), guiding junior coders, reviewing clinical statements, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review clinical documentation to understand assigned patient diagnoses and procedures.

  • Accurately transform healthcare diagnoses, procedures, medical services, and equipment into universal medical alphanumeric codes.

  • Establish and maintain uniform vocabulary for describing injury, illness, and treatment across medical facilities.

  • Perform quality control by reviewing coding outputs, providing audit feedback, and identifying documentation deficiencies.

  • Act as SME for new coders, supporting training and mentoring initiatives.

  • Ensure consistency and compliance in EM outpatient coding, multispecialty coding, and procedure codes.

  • Utilize computer applications for coding tasks, reporting, and team communications.

  • Work within scheduled shifts (Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM IST) with flexibility for overtime and weekend requirements.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Healthcare BPO with hands-on exposure to EM multispecialty coding.

  • CPC certification is mandatory.

  • Proven experience in quality control, audit feedback, and identifying documentation trends.

  • Strong knowledge of outpatient coding, multispecialty procedure codes, and compliance standards.

  • Proficiency with Windows PC applications and medical coding software tools.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

  • Ability to provide guidance to junior coders and act as a SME within the team.
