Position Overview

The Associate Medical Director provides medical, clinical, and scientific advisory expertise across IQVIA divisions. This role participates in all aspects of Medical Science involvement on assigned trials, serving as a medical expert throughout the project delivery lifecycle, and supporting therapeutic and medical guidance for business development activities.


Key Responsibilities

Medical Monitoring & Advisory

  • Serve as Global Medical Advisor on assigned projects.

  • Provide guidance to Project Leaders on medical and scientific aspects.

  • Support investigative sites and project staff for protocol clarifications, inclusion/exclusion determinations, and patient safety/eligibility issues.

  • Perform medical review of protocols, Investigative Drug Brochures (IDB), and Case Report Forms (CRFs).

  • Deliver therapeutic area/indication training for project clinical teams.

  • Attend and present at Investigator Meetings.

  • Review and clarify trial-related Adverse Events (AEs) and Serious Adverse Events (SAEs) in collaboration with Pharmacovigilance.

  • Provide medical review of adverse event coding and Clinical Study Reports (CSRs).

  • Participate in Kick-Off meetings, weekly team meetings, and client meetings as needed.

  • Be available 24/7 for urgent protocol-related questions, in accordance with labor laws.

  • May require regular travel.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Extensive use of telephone, face-to-face communication, and keyboard for documentation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure trial compliance and quality.


Qualifications

Education & Certification:

  • Medical degree from an accredited and internationally recognized medical school.

  • Board certification in the relevant therapeutic area preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical medicine experience.

  • Minimum 4 years of clinical trials experience as an investigator or within Pharma, CRO, or Biotech.

  • Strong knowledge of scientific, clinical, regulatory, commercial, and competitive landscape in cardiology.

  • Familiarity with federal and local clinical research regulations and guidelines.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Clinical and therapeutic expertise in cardiology.

  • Ability to provide scientific and strategic guidance throughout trial lifecycle.

  • Strong business acumen and collaboration skills.

  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base pay range: $112,000 – $312,000 per year (annualized)

  • Actual pay may vary based on experience, qualifications, location, and schedule.

  • Incentives, bonuses, and a range of health and welfare benefits may also be offered.
