1. Role Overview

The Associate Director, Analytical Sciences is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the QCEAS (Quality Control & Analytical Excellence) team in Hyderabad.

This role ensures:

  • Regulatory compliance

  • Analytical quality and performance excellence

  • Execution of global analytical science activities

  • Leadership of a large technical team


2. Key Responsibilities

A. Analytical Science Strategy & Operations

  • Lead commercial analytical science activities including:

    • Method data trending

    • Method qualification

    • Instrument lifecycle management

    • Stability operations & trending

    • Analytical quality assurance

    • Documentation & knowledge management

  • Ensure alignment with global QCEAS standards and regulatory expectations


B. Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead Hyderabad-based QCEAS team

  • Manage full employee lifecycle:

    • Hiring

    • Training

    • Performance appraisals

    • Mentoring & coaching

    • Motivation and disciplinary actions

  • Drive team engagement and development using BMS systems (e.g., Workday)

  • Build leadership capability within the team


C. Compliance & Quality Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to procedural documents and global regulatory requirements

  • Maintain compliance of electronic quality management systems

  • Monitor system performance and escalate issues when needed

  • Apply risk-based decision-making to ensure compliance


D. Performance Monitoring & Metrics

  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Collect and analyze operational metrics

  • Identify trends and implement corrective actions

  • Communicate performance updates to global stakeholders


E. Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Management

  • Collaborate with global QCEAS teams and leadership

  • Communicate updates to senior leadership (Global Quality Capability Center Head)

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and prioritize business needs

  • Ensure alignment across global analytical systems and processes


F. Risk Management

  • Identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies

  • Implement contingency plans when required

  • Ensure business continuity and compliance stability


3. Leadership Scope

  • Full people management responsibility (~7+ years leadership experience required)

  • Leads a large analytical science team in Hyderabad

  • Responsible for both performance delivery and compliance governance

  • Acts as a bridge between global leadership and local execution teams


4. Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum requirement)


Experience

  • 10+ years industry experience

  • Minimum 7 years in people leadership roles

  • Experience in:

    • Analytical sciences

    • Quality control / QA systems

    • Pharmaceutical or biotech industry
