Role Overview

The Associate Medical Writer will contribute to the development of high-quality scientific and medical communication materials for global pharmaceutical clients. This role is designed for candidates with strong scientific backgrounds who are eager to build expertise in medical communications across diverse therapeutic areas while working closely with international stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders.

The role operates in a remote-first environment under the organization’s “Human-Anchored AI™” approach, where AI tools augment scientific and communication expertise.


Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific Writing & Content Development

  • Develop, write, proofread, and data-check scientific and medical content, including:

    • Manuscripts, abstracts, and posters

    • Slide decks for medical science liaisons (MSLs) and training

    • Educational and congress materials

    • Infographics and digital learning assets

    • Literature reviews and searches

    • Standard response letters / medical information letters

    • Patient-focused and HCP engagement content

  • Ensure accuracy, scientific integrity, and attention to detail under guidance from scientific leads

2. Medical Communications & Digital Content

  • Support development of digital and interactive medical communication assets such as:

    • Publication extenders

    • Infographics and visual scientific content

    • Website and educational materials

    • Patient narratives

    • Medical engagement plans

3. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build professional relationships with:

    • International pharmaceutical clients

    • Healthcare professionals

    • Key opinion leaders (KOLs)

    • Internal teams, authors, reviewers, and vendors

  • Communicate proactively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery quality

4. Quality, Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure all deliverables comply with:

    • Client requirements and style guides

    • Standard operating procedures (SOPs)

    • Internal quality and documentation standards

  • Keep documents updated according to evolving guidelines and client preferences

5. Research & Scientific Input

  • Perform literature reviews and evaluate scientific evidence

  • Maintain awareness of developments across therapeutic areas

  • Contribute intellectual input to improve clarity and accessibility of scientific content

6. Learning & Development

  • Participate in trainings, workshops, and seminars

  • Attend client and external meetings with senior team members

  • Share best practices to support team capability building


Required Qualifications

  • PhD / PharmD / MD / MBBS in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related field

  • Post-doctoral experience preferred (strong advantage)

  • Strong understanding of clinical research and medical communications

  • Excellent scientific writing skills with clarity, precision, and attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt writing style for different audiences and content formats

  • Basic knowledge of biostatistics

  • Strong literature search and critical appraisal skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office
